Fido was so excited to partner with Kaitlyn Alexander again for our third year celebrating at Pride Toronto. Kaitlyn came out to celebrate on June 24th with us, marching in the parade and sharing their Proud Moments in our GIF booth. Read all about Kaitlyn’s experience and watch their VLOG below!

This year, Fido invited me to march in the Toronto Pride Parade – a complete first for me! I was so excited to partner with them again this year. This is my third year working with Fido at Pride, and I am so happy that I was able to walk in the parade this year.

I’ve been going to Pride for 8 years now, but I’ve never marched in the parade before. I was feeling a bit nervous before heading out – but as soon as I arrived to get ready, everything melted away and I felt completely at home.

As we started to march down Bloor and onto Yonge street, I was blown away by the amount of people and supporters I saw along the way. The energy of the Fido team (and the tunes!), really spread excitement for the parade watchers. I even heard someone scream, “FIDO! THAT’S MY PHONE COMPANY!”.

I even got the chance to meet and say hi to some of my community members that actually saw me marching! It was so nice to be able to wave, stop for a quick chat, and meet people face to face.

The amount of trans flags I saw waving from the crowd just made my heart soar and the diversity of both the community watching and the community walking was so important. It really was such an amazing thing to see.

As we approached Yonge and Dundas Square, I was able to see your Proud Moments from the Fido GIF booth on the big screen! Seeing everyone’s bright, smiling faces in such an impactful space was incredible.

I vlogged about my experience and I hope you enjoy my recap! Walking in the parade gave me a warm hug feeling that I’ve never experienced at Pride before, so I hope you get the same feeling after watching.

I hope you all had a happy Pride!
